    Dear Team,

I need pointers on how to download a D365 CRM entity & field schema from a D365 CRM system, via SDK?

    Many thanks.

    Regards,

    Mark L

Start with the RetrieveAllEntitiesRequest and work from there would be my suggestion.

    Hey Mark

If you're using this in code, you can use the RetrieveEntityRequest and RetrieveEntityResponse objects.

An alternative to doing this in code, if this meets your requirement, is to use the Metadata Document Generator in the XrmToolBox. You can export the data straight out to Excel.

I'm sure the Metadata Document Generator is part of the default plugins installed. If not go to Tools > Plugin Store, find and install it from there.

Alternatively, check out the SampleCode/CS/Metadata folder in the SDK download. A few examples in there of how to extract metadata, including a nifty Diagram Builder.
