    Hi,

I am working within Dynamics 365 and within our customers entity we have a contacts tab which contains a subgrid to show all contacts for that customer. Against the subgrid in the "Related" list I have an option for "See associated records" which when clicked would show all contacts for that customer.

My question is how do I add a show list button for the "See associated records" next to the "+ New Contact" button on the subgrid ribbon so the user can just click this to see all contacts for that customer?

    Kind Regards,
    Deepak

Hi @Deepak Karavadra, I'm confused about what the See associated records button actually does as it just takes you to the Contacts Associated View screen.  Is this what you want?  Does the Contacts subgrid not already show all the contacts for the account by default?

    Hi Mark,

Yes, the see associated records button would take me straight to the "Contacts Associated View". All I really want is for the button to be available on the subgrid ribbon so the user does not have to click the ellipsis and then select Contacts Associated View. Clicking the button would take the user straight into the contacts associated view.

    Kind Regards,
    Deepak

Hi @Deepak Karavadra, it doesn't appear that you can make this button available by using either the classic or UI solution designer.  Have you tried creating a Contacts tab so that users can just click on that to take them to the Contacts Associated View?  My only other suggestion is that the button might be able to be added by using the Ribbon Workbench.  I don't have much experience with the Ribbon Workbench but hopefully another user will be able to confirm whether this is possible.

    Hi Mark Aston,

It is odd because we did have this button on the old classic view of CRM. Maybe its not available on the new interface.

I have got a seperate tab for contacts so I guess the users can use that to see the contact associated view straight away.

    Thanks for your help.

    Kind Regards,
    Deepak

Hi @Deepak Karavadra, I had a similar issue only yesterday where the same sub-grid has different functionality between the interfaces.  The sub-grid allows a user to create Tasks, this takes 3 steps in the classic interface but in the unified interface, there is a New Task button which is 1 click.

In the old UI you needed to have the relationship in the navigation of the form to get the subgrid button to appear?  Could that be the case?

    thanks

    Hi James,

I've added the relationship to the form but the subgrid button still does not appear.

    Kind Regards,
    Deepak
