    Hey all!

I'm looking to capitalize on the momentum from the last meeting and get a jump on the next meeting before I get caught up in all the fires from the day job, I'm sure you can all relate.

During the round-table portion of the meeting, there was consensus from the group that it would be good to have a 'hit-list' of issues from the user community, and have an industry professional or CRM-Ninja walk through some possible solutions.

To make sure we get the right CRM-Ninja, I'd like to start a thread for us to post some of the issues that are plaguing us between now and the next meeting.

If you run into one of those annoying things that you need to fix at some point, but don't have the time (or energy) to chase down on your own, post it here and we can add it to the agenda for the next meeting.  Or, if there's something you'd just like to investigate (maybe a new facet of 2016), let us know!

For my part, I'd like to see what CRM's Marketing section can do out of the box and how people are using it without much modification.  This is a new area for us, and I don't know how much time I'll have to read up on it so it'd be good to have someone run through the highlights and some how-to's.

But this is your group and your meeting.  Let me know what sounds fun, and we'll do our best to make that happen.

Ed, thanks for getting this ball rolling.  I have a specific question regarding Marketing functionality:  We want to be able to see all campaign activities (which use a marketing list) on the contact or account records of the recipients (e.g., emails, phone calls, etc.)  Does anyone know how to link campaign activities to the contact and account records?

    Toni,

Great question! Thanks for bringing it to the group.  We are also very new to the Marketing functions, but I think it might act like any other entity.

For now, we are running our campaigns against Leads (vs. Contacts or Companies like you), but I'm wondering if the easiest way would be to establish an n:1 relationship between the Contact/Company entities and the Campaign Entity.

Then, you should be able to add related campaigns as a sub-grid on the appropriate form.  This is all just theory in my head, so I'd love to hear other perspectives.

I think even if we get this running before September, we could review the different steps in the meeting.

I was purposefully ambiguous on the steps, so let us know your comfort level or experience with the various solutions presented, and that will help us figure out how much detail to type out.

Additionally, I think it would be great to have an impromptu chapter-coffee or something if our solutions are more 'visual' or practical.

Does anyone else have experience connecting the campaigns to other entities?  How did you approach it?  How did it go?

    Keep the questions coming.

Ok, here are some ideas for discussion I've been considering.

    1. CRM Certification - Borrowed this from another chapter, but are there certifications you've been considering with regards to Dynamics CRM?  What is required?
    2. Power BI Reports for CRM - I've started exploring Power BI and finding it to be a great way to present meaningful insights.  There are a couple of pre-packaged CRM Reports which install easily.  Anyone interested in those?
    3. Preview Features - I was watching a webinar on Task Flows for Mobile and had no idea previews were even available.  My favorite so far is the Organizational Insights, but I thought it might be good to walk through some of these.
    4. Marketing Aspects within CRM - A couple of users have expressed interest exploring the Marketing functionality built into CRM.
    5. Social Engagement - Upcoming issue of CRMUG Magazine will focus on Social Marketing & Service.  I've been messing around with Social Engagement and can walk through some of that.  Is anyone else using that?  Interested?

What is your preference?  Is there stuff I missed?  This is your group and your meeting, so let me know what sounds interesting and I'll work on building the content.

    Let me know...

    Thanks!
